Hours before NFL Draft, top prospect gets engaged atop Empire State Building

Eric Ebron is going to have quite a day.

The former North Carolina tight end, who is projected to be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night, had an even more joyous occasion in the afternoon, when he proposed to his girlfriend atop the Empire State Building.

She said yes.

Ebron told Fox Sports he bought the ring a week ago and was a “ball of nerves” before popping the question to UNC hoopster Brittany Rountree, his girlfriend of two years. On his choice of the landmark venue, Ebron said, “What better way?”

Now the happy couple just needs to find out where they will be living. Ebron, a game-breaking pass-catcher in the Vernon Davis mold, is projected to be drafted as high as the top 10 and has been touted as a target for the Giants at No. 12.
