The annual Allen & Co. conference in Sun Valley, Idaho, brings together more than just the leaders of media, tech, politics, fashion and sports. The exclusive gathering is also a family event, and many of the rich and powerful fly into the famous resort town with their spouses and children in tow. Some of those significant others are accomplished in their own right. Either way, it’s not unusual to see couples strolling hand-in-hand, soaking up the sun — or waiting while their spouse takes a cellphone call. Sheryl Sandberg, the chief operating officer of Facebook and the author of bestseller “Lean In,” arrives with her husband, Dave Goldberg, the CEO of SurveyMonkey.
