Spike options script on Trump-Wynn Atlantic City ‘War’

The legendary Donald Trump-Steve Wynn feud is being turned into a potential television event.

Spike TV has optioned a script based on the book “The War at the Shore,” which chronicles the developers’ battle for supremacy in Atlantic City from 1995 to 2000.

The 2012 book was written by Richard D. “Skip” Bronson, a businessman and developer who was Wynn’s point man in Atlantic City as they tried to develop a new resort complex while Trump sought to stop them at all costs.

The special event series will focus on the two outspoken businessmen “who fought a bare-knuckled brawl with billions of dollars on the line and the very future of the seaside resort community at stake,” according to the announcement.

Trigger Street Productions — the production company of Kevin Spacey (“House of Cards”) — will develop the series with Giant Pirates Entertainment. Executive producers are Dana Brunetti, Troy Searer and Ross Jacobson.

The project is part of Spike TV’s bid to return to scripted programming with limited series after canceling its last scripted show, “Blue Mountain State,” in 2012.
