Bank of America boss spoken out against shareholder’s meeting

Bank of America Corp. boss Brian Moynihan is thankful for friends like Peggy McMahon.

The feisty Bronx resident quickly quelled an outspoken shareholder who lashed out at Moynihan at the bank’s annual shareholder meeting in Charlotte, NC.

McMahon, who owns BofA stock, attended during a break from vacation. “She had a strong accent and looked like she’d just come from the Kentucky Derby in her floral dress and wide hat,” one spy told On the Money.

When another shareholder, Judith Koenick, attacked Moynihan, McMahon was visibly incensed, calling the CEO a “fine gentleman” and a credit to Ireland.

Moynihan, born in Marietta, Ohio, the sixth of eight children of an Irish Catholic family, graduated from Brown University and the University of Notre Dame. The American Ireland Fund and Irish America magazine honored him.

Koenick wasn’t hearing it.

“I’d like to finish my comments without being threatened by this woman,” she responded to McMahon’s interruption. McMahon then hollered back, “I’ll threaten you all I want!” but then directed her attention to Moynihan: “I love you, Mr. Moynihan . . . I’d marry you in the morning.”

McMahon later sat next to another attendee, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, who volunteered in jest to officiate at any Moynihan-McMahon nuptials.

Moynihan, who is already married, was thankful to McMahon. Two people clearly loved him, he told shareholders: his mother and McMahon.
