‘Game of Thrones’ mixtape boasts hip-hop flair

Can anyone think of something that rhymes with Tyrion Lannister or Daenerys Targaryen?

Didn’t think so. But that hasn’t stopped a group of hip-hop and Latin artists from contributing to the new 10-track “Game Of Thrones” mixtape, released Friday.

Ahead of the highly anticipated fourth season (due to start on April 6), HBO has commissioned this free compilation to provide an accompaniment to the worlds of Westeros and Essos.

There’s no doubt that the talent involved are all super-fans of the show too. Highlights include Outkast’s Big Boi rapping about Khaleesi on the opener “Mother Of Dragons,” while Common gets dramatic on his state-of-the-union style contribution, “The Ladder.” “In the seven kingdoms, ain’t nobody righteous,” he states. Maybe not, but there’s plenty of righteousness to be heard on “Catch The Throne.”
