‘Fifty Shades’ stars describe ‘task’ of making sexy film

The “Fifty Shades of Grey” trailer hit on Thursday morning, and though the book has gotten more than 90 million readers hot and bothered, the stars of the upcoming movie adaptation say that translating that raciness to the screen was less so.

“It’s not like a romantic situation, it’s more technical and choreographed,” star Dakota Johnson, who plays naive college student Anastasia Steele, told “Today” before unveiling the trailer. “It’s like more of a task.”

Not exactly words of praise for her co-star Jamie Dornan, who plays the kinky businessman Christian Grey, but he took it in stride, noting that the two did develop the requisite chemistry on set.

“That’s a big part of it . . . having trust, because we got ourselves into situations that don’t feel that natural and they’re not that easy and you need to have the trust there,” he said.

And though Johnson comes from an acting family — her parents are Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson — she said she doesn’t think she wants them to see the sexy film.

“I think that probably no, not at all,” she said. “If it were them doing the movie, I wouldn’t want to see that.”

“Fifty Shades of Grey” hits theaters Feb. 13, 2015, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
