Two women are wanted for snatching purses and wallets in Astoria and Woodside and then using the stolen credit cards to go on shopping sprees, police said.

The thieving duo has struck three times since Jan. 20, police said.

The most recent incident was on Feb. 28 at Marshalls on Northern Boulevard at 6 p.m. when they plucked a purse out of a woman’s shopping cart, police said. Shortly after the theft they used a stolen credit card at McDonalds and CEX electronics store, police said.

They struck at the same Marshalls two days earlier at 6:45 p.m. and just pulled a wallet out of a handbag left unattended in a shopping cart, police said. Following that heist they hit up Victoria’s Secret and Sports Lane with the victim’s credit card.

The first theft on Jan. 20 at 2:45 p.m. they targeted a woman inside of Shine Beauty Salon on Steinway Street and grabbed her wallet from her purse before going on a shopping spree at Victoria’s Secret, Party City and Michaels, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
