City will savor new Seaport

The fish are gone, but the food is coming back.

The developer of the South Street Seaport has committed to opening new food markets for local products as part of a top-to-bottom reconstruction of the seaport and the old Fulton Fish Market, City Council Speaker Christine Quinn announced yesterday.

One market would open before October 2014 within the Seaport area, and another would be in the Tin Building.
