1 seriously injured in Brooklyn home blaze

A person is fighting for their life this morning after a fire tore through the basement of a Brooklyn house, authorities said.

The flames broke out at 5:45 a.m. in the house on Madison Street near Ralph Avenue in the Bedford Stuyvesant section, the FDNY said.

Firefighters battled the blaze for more than a half hour and rescued four victims from the home, the FDNY said.

Three people suffered only minor injuries, while one person was critically injured, the FDNY said.

The victims were taken to Woodhull Medical Center and Wyckoff Hospital.
