Cops charge mezuzah firebug suspect

Cops have charged a man in the anti-Semitic arson attack in Brooklyn after he was taken into police custody yesterday, law-enforcement sources said.

Ruben Ubiles, 35, is accused of second-degree burglary, arson, and criminal mischief as a hate crime. He has also been charged with reckless endangerment

He was also charged with criminal criminal contempt for violating an order of protection against his girlfriend, who he stabbed in February, sources said.

On their Facebook pages, they appear to have reconciled.

Police picked up Ubiles, who has over 40 priors, about 10:30 a.m. yesterday for the burning of the Jewish religious items items, which are placed at entrances to homes.

Eleven of the burnings came Monday on Holocaust Memorial Day.
