Rangers’ Carcillo has words with bird-flipping Flyers fan

Dan Carcillo had a busy night for the Rangers, scoring the putaway goal in a Game 3 win over the Flyers, taking two penalties and getting into one spirited conversation with an uncouth Philadelphia fan flipping him the double bird.

The middle fingers came out after Carcillo notched the eff-you tally in the third period of the 4-1 Rangers victory and veered into the boards to celebrate.

Rather that skate away, the pugnacious Carcillo — who spent two-and-a-half seasons with the Flyers from 2009 to 2011 and had been a healthy scratch for the first two games of the series — stood his ground and mouthed off right back to the vigorously gesturing Wells Fargo Center customer in his No. 28 Giroux jersey.

It was a big day for bird-flipping on the sports scene. Mets ace Matt Harvey deleted his Twitter account after catching flak from the team for posting a photo of a one-finger salute.
