Manhattan

■ An after-hours burglar hit a posh Hell’s Kitchen restaurant and stole a safe filled with payroll checks and $1,400 in cash, cops said Monday.

The thief broke into Obao Restaurant on Ninth Avenue near West 45th Street at 5 a.m. on Saturday, according to police.

He got into the manager’s office, grabbed the safe and fled, according to cops.

The thief is about 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds and is believed to be in his 30s. He was wearing a baseball cap and sneakers.

■ A 21-year-old man was fatally shot in the neck and torso in Harlem early Monday, police said.

His body was discovered behind the Rangel Houses on Harlem River Drive after officers were notified of a person shot in the area at around 6 a.m., according to cops.

The victim, whose name is being withheld pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The motive for the killing was unclear.


Brooklyn

■ A young woman shot on a street in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Sunday has died.

Beverly Turner, 18, was shot several times, suffering wounds to the neck, back and chest, in front of a three-story apartment building on Quincy Street near Marcy Avenue at around 1:20 a.m., police said.

She was rushed to Kings County Hospital in critical condition, and could not be saved.

The shooter is believed to be a man with a stocky build who was last seen wearing blue jeans and a white shirt.

He fled west on Marcy Avenue, according to police.

It’s unclear why the gunman opened fire or if Turner was the intended target.

■ A man was shot in the eye in East New York, police said Monday.

An armed assailant put a gun to the unidentified 21-year-old’s head inside a deli at Hegeman and Montauk avenues at around 8 p.m. Saturday, cops said.

He pulled the trigger and fled, leaving the victim bleeding on the floor, according to officials.

The wounded man was rushed to Brookdale Hospital in critical condition.

Police believe the victim and gunman fought before the shooting, but it was unclear why.

The shooter is believed to be in his 20s and was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans, cops said.

■ A 22-year-old woman was shot in the back and a man was wounded in a Wingate ambush, but the victims are not cooperating with police, officials said Monday.

An unknown attacker opened fire on the two on East 52nd Street near Winthrop Street at around 6:45 p.m. Saturday, police said.

The woman and the man, whose age was unknown, were taken to Kings County Hospital.

Both are expected to survive.

The victims refused to give cops any information on the shooter or the circumstances surrounding the attack.


Staten Island

■ An unlicensed trucker was busted after covering his license plates with black tape and trying to sneak through a toll, authorities said Monday.

Michael Wynn, 63, of Pine Brook, NJ, was driving his rig east on the Goethals Bridge on Saturday night when Port Authority Police Officer Ed Benenati spotted the suspicious setup, cops said.

The cop pulled the driver over at the toll plaza and found that his plates had expired five years ago and that his license had been suspended nine times, officials said.

The rig, which was filled with a mix of household items, was impounded, police added.

Wynn was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and using obstructed or covered license plates.


Queens

■ A man survived a shooting in Far Rockaway over the weekend, but the gunman was still on the loose Monday.

The unknown attacker opened fire on the 21-year-old victim in front of a residential building on Beach 15th Street at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, police said.

The victim was struck once in the leg and taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition.

The motive for the shooting was unclear and police did not have a description of the attacker.
