2 arrests in 1 day for college hoops player

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Missouri basketball player Zach Price is suspended from the team after being arrested twice for allegedly assaulting his roommate and a woman.

Columbia police say both incidents involved the same victims.

Columbia Police Sgt. Joe Bernhard says the victims reported that Price rammed their car at least twice Wednesday afternoon during an argument. The investigation of that incident wasn’t finished until Thursday afternoon. By that time, Price already had been arrested a second time on suspicion of third-degree assault and third-degree domestic assault for another confrontation with the victims.

ESPN.com reports the incidents involved Price’s roommate and Tigers teammate Earnest Ross.

Missouri Coach Frank Haith said after the first arrest that he was “very disappointed” with Price and will discipline him accordingly. The university said the second arrest did not change Price’s status.

Price sat out last season after transferring from Louisville.
