Down to 1 shady amigo

New York’s “four amigos’’ are now down to one.

The third state senator in the once-powerful Albany quartet, Pedro Espada Jr., was hauled off to prison yesterday, following in the footsteps of fellow members Carl Kruger of Brooklyn and Hiram Monserrate of Queens.

All three senators were convicted in separate schemes involving the bilking of taxpayer-funded nonprofits.

The last “amigo” standing, Bronx state Sen. Ruben Diaz Sr., so far remains in office.

The four men earned their moniker after first revolting against the Democratic Senate leadership to hand control of the legislative body to the Republicans in 2009.

They switched back to the Democrats in a deal that made Espada the Senate majority leader.
