HAVE A BALL: Kick off the weekend when Hip Tot Music Fest and the nonprofit Young Rock Soccer Academy join forces for the first Brooklyn Bridge Cup & Block Party. It’s a combination free soccer tournament and concert featuring such local acts as the City Billies, Love Funk, and Audra Rox. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., free (bring cash for grub from food trucks including Hibachi Heaven and Taco Bites). Tournament for kids ages 7 to 13. Brooklyn Tech Field, Clermont Avenue between Atlantic Avenue and Fulton Street, Fort Greene; brooklynbridgecup.com

LION AROUND: Get animated at the Puppetry Arts Fifth Avenue Family Festival, where “Between the Lions” puppeteer Noel MacNeal leads a puppet-making workshop and singalong with star puppet Lionel. After making your own furry friend, decorate a T-shirt, go rock climbing or jump around a bouncy house. 11 a.m., puppet-making workshop $2, T-shirt decorating $3, bouncy house $4 and rock climbing $8. Fifth Avenue at Fourth Street, Park Slope; 718-768-3703, puppetryarts.org

MAKIN’ MAGIC: Mario the magician works with an unusual sidekick — a bird. And not just any bird, a dovenamed Mozzarella. He also has a mechanical monkey and a “suitcase machine.” See what it’s all about at 11:30 a.m. at the Metropolitan Room, 34 W. 22nd St.; 212-206-0440, metropolitanroom.com. Tickets, $20 and $30.

TOMORROW

FREE FOR ALL: You can’t please everyone all of the time, but you’ll come pretty close at SummerStage Kids’ “Brooklyn Family Day,” where there’ll be live soul music, a performance by the Something Positive Afro-Caribbean Dance Theater, storytelling, face-painting, and workshops in everything from Zumba to yoga to carnival arts. 4 to 7 p.m., free. Von King Park, between Greene, Marcy, Lafayette and Tompkins avenues, Bed-Stuy; nycgovparks.org
