Shot girl, 11, rallies

The 11-year-old Brooklyn girl who was shot in the neck by a stray bullet sat up in her hospital bed for the first time yesterday, according to her family.

The mother of Tayloni Mazyck said she was able to sit up for the first time with the help of a nurse and physical therapist.

She was shot in Bedford-Stuyvesant on May 31 after Kane Cooper, 17, allegedly fired shots into the air. He was charged with attempted murder.

When she was initially shot, doctors feared she could be paralyzed. The bullet is lodged in her spine.

“She still has a long road ahead of her,” said mom Priscilla Samuel at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. “She has a lot of pain. She’s afraid to go outside.”

When asked about the alleged shooter, Samuel showed spiritual grace: “I’ll let God deal with him. I wish his family the best of luck, and I’ll let God deal with him.”
