The first look at the highly anticipated movie “Gone Girl” has arrived. Directed by David Fincher (“The Social Network”), the film is an adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s thrilling novel that has sold more than 6 million copies. Ben Affleck stars as Nick Dunne, a man accused of murdering his wife Amy (Rosamund Pike) when she suddenly goes missing. Alas, as fans of the book know, things are never quite as they seem.
Set to a cover of Charles Aznavour’s “She” by Richard Butler of the alt-rock band Psychedelic Furs, the trailer doesn’t offer up much in terms of dialogue — but boy is there a lot of style. With reports having surfaced that Fincher has created an ending different from that of the novel, where this one’s headed is anyone’s guess.
