Bicyclist killed in Sunset Park

A bicyclist was killed this morning in a hit and run accident in Brooklyn, authorities said.

A flatbed truck ran into the cyclist at 9:40 a.m. at the intersection of 65th Street and Sixth Avenue in Sunset Park and kept going, cops said.

The trucker was headed northbound on Sixth Avenue and collided with the victim when making a right onto 65th Street, cops said.

“I think the flatbed probably didn’t even notice or feel that he hit someone. It was just sad, because the guy was probably just going out for a nice ride, enjoying the weather,” said Ali Naqi, 29.

The biker, in his 60’s, died at the scene, police said.

“Usually there’s always traffic cops here. If they would’ve been here, it would’ve been prevented,” Naqi said.
