Heartless ‘fans’ sell Gandolfini funeral programs on eBay — one asks for $1,000!

Less than twenty-four hours after fans, friends and family paid their respects to the late James Gandolfini, morbid profiteers are trying to turn a quick buck by selling programs to the actor’s funeral on eBay for over $1,000.

“James Gandolfini funeral program June 27, 2013 16 pages. Program from his funeral I attended,” reads a listing asking for a $1,000 opening bid or a Buy It Now price of $1,300.

The plain black and white program has a face shot of Gandolfini, the seal of The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine where his service was held and reads “A Celebration of the Life of James John Gandolfini.”

“I’m a huge fan myself and this really is a must have for the ultimate Sopranos and James Gandolfini fan,” reads another listing on eBay hocking a “presteen mint condition” booklet with “No tears, no folds.”

“Happy bidding, shipping is free and I ship all over the world,” the listing continues.

The seller started the bidding at $85 with a Buy It Now price listed at $1,200. Nobody has placed a bid yet.

While the thousand dollar listing have yet to garner any action, programs priced between $50-$100 have multiple bids.

Gandolfini’s funeral was attended by over 1,500 of the actors friends, family and fans yesterday at The Cathedral of Saint John the Divine in Morningside Heights.

The larger-than-life actor who was made famous portraying dark and broody mob boss Tony Soprano was remembered as a “big teddy bear” whose childlike emotions allowed him to nail the iconic character.
