[WARNING: Spoilers ahead!]
Mindy/Danny shippers got their payoff in Tuesday’s winter finale of “The Mindy Project,” when the series’ will-they-won’t-they couple finally kissed in the final seconds of the episode.
Still in Los Angeles, Mindy (Mindy Kaling) misses her flight back to New York (where she was plotting to win back Cliff, who dumped her in last week’s episode) to help a distraught Danny (Chris Messina), reeling from his reunion with his formerly deadbeat dad.
After Danny repays the favor by helping Mindy craft a heartfelt apology e-mail to Cliff (clearly a guise for his own feelings), he corners her by the airplane’s craft services, and the two share a passionate embrace.
The kiss of the season had “Mindy Project” fans squealing with delight on Twitter:

The fade out after the fateful kiss featured the phrase “Happily Ever After?” leaving “Mindy Project” fans to anticipate what will happen with this couple until the show returns from its hiatus on April 1.
