The 8 greatest TV kisses of the last decade

Mindy and Danny — “The Mindy Project’s” will-they-won’t-they couple — finally kissed in Tuesday’s winter-finale episode.

And that long-awaited liplock got us nostalgic for other highly anticipated small-screen smooches in seasons gone by.

Here’s our list of eight of the best TV kisses of the past decade (in no particular order):

Jim and Pam (“The Office”), Season 2 finale, 2006

After pining after the engaged Pam (Jenna Fischer) for two seasons, office prankster Jim (John Krasinski) finally made his move in the “Casino Night” episode.

Jim told Pam he loved her, and despite her claim that he misinterpreted their friendship, Jim kisses Pam in the episode’s final moments.

Lady Mary and Matthew Crawley (“Downton Abbey”), Season 2 finale, 2012

Though the couple had kissed before, Mary and Matthew’s most memorable kiss had to be in the Season 2 finale.

Though both were engaged to other people, the two realized they were meant to be together and got engaged as snowflakes swirled around them.

Olivia and Fitz (“Scandal”), Season 1 premiere, 2012

Steamy, steamy, steamy — and what could be more forbidden?

The kisses between President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn) and robotic-yet-well-attired political fixer Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) smoldered from the first episode, when Fitz tried to kiss Olivia as an apology after a fight in the Oval Office.

Castle and Beckett (“Castle”), Season 3, 2011

Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) — known lovably to fans as “Caskett” — finally locked lips in a Season 3 episode, and though it was ploy to distract a guard, the two clearly had feelings for each other — though Castle wouldn’t admit to his love for Beckett until the end of the season.

Booth and Brennan (“Bones”), Season 3, 2007

Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) first shared a kiss under the mistletoe in the Season 3 episode “The Santa in the Slush,” but these crime hunters had eyes for each other long before that.

In Season 5, they revealed they had kissed during their very first case together — before the series began.

Nick and Jess (“New Girl”), Season 2, 2013

After almost hooking up for the better part of two seasons, Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Nick (Jake Johnson) finally locked lips in a Season 2 episode.

When the pair found themselves locked in a room together during a game — only to be released when they kiss — Nick refuses, saying “not like this.”

But the payoff came at the end of the episode, when Nick grabbed Jess by the arm and kissed her on his way to bed, leaving Jess in shock.

Izzie and Denny (“Grey’s Anatomy”), Season 2, 2006

Flirty Denny (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) pulls away from Izzie (Katherine Heigl) for fear that he will die from his heart condition and break her heart.

When he wakes from surgery in a Season 2 episode, she tells him she can’t fall for a patient, then kisses him anyway.

Chuck and Blair (“Gossip Girl”), Season 1, 2007

The Upper East Side bad boy/girl pair infamously got it on in the back of a limo in the first season after Blair (Leighton Meester) discovered boyfriend Nate (Chace Crawford) kissed another girl, thinking it was her best friend Serena (Blake Lively).

And thus, six seasons of Chuck and Blair’s on-again-off-again relationship was born.
