Limo driver killed by tractor trailer

A limousine driver was killed when a tractor trailer struck him as he was checking his vehicle along a New Jersey highway, authorities said.

The driver pulled over on the exit ramp of the southbound New Jersey Turnpike at around 5 a.m. Sunday before getting out of his vehicle for an unspecified reason, according to state police.

That’s when the unidentified man was hit by the 18-wheeler, which may have lost control due to icy conditions.

The crash set off a chain reaction of accidents, cops said, but it is unknown if there were any other injuries.
