Suspect who shot choirboy in eye found hiding in basement: cops

A suspect was arrested in connection with the shooting of a 13-year-old choirboy who was blasted in the eye at a city bus stop, sources said.

Kareem Potomont, 21, was found hiding in a Jamaica, Queens basement at around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, according to law enforcement sources.

He was busted by NYPD detectives and US Marshals assigned to the Regional Fugitive Task Force.

The suspect was taken to the 70th Precinct Station House where he was awaiting charges Thursday night.

Potomont, who has 12 sealed arrests, allegedly wounded Gama Droiville, when the teen was struck in the eye by a stray bullet as he waited for a bus on Flatbush Avenue around noon Monday.

The boy was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he is expected to survive.

Tips led investigators to identify Potomont as a person of interest and track him down in Queens.
