Forbes lists top-earning ‘Idol’ alums

Forbes on Tuesday released a list of the top-earning “American Idol” alums, and not surprisingly, Carrie Underwood topped the list by a landslide.

The country star — who won “Idol” in 2005 — earned $31 million in 2013 according to the report, the same year she toplined NBC’s live production of “The Sound of Music.”

Original “Idol” winner Kelly Clarkson was second with $7 million in earnings, while 2012 champion Phillip Phillips tied for third with Season Eight runner-up Adam Lambert (each earned $5 million in 2013).

Coming in at No. 5 was Chris Daughtry, whose rock band raked in $4 million last year.
