UCC student narrowly avoided massacre thanks to ‘gut feeling’

Umpqua Community College student Bre Larson

An Oregon student narrowly missed a massacre that left nine innocent victims dead at her community college — thanks to “a weird gut feeling” that stopped her from setting foot on campus on Thursday, she told The Post.

Bre Larson, 19, who is studying psychology at Umpqua Community College, in Roseburg, had planned to do her homework in the school library at 10 am Thursday, when she was struck by a powerful premonition.

“I had planned go to there to make a Power Point presentation for my speech class. It’s my favorite place to study. I set my alarm for 9 am but I got this weird feeling,” the second-year student said.

“I was talking to myself, thinking, should I go? Something didn’t feel right. It was sort of an instinct, ” she said, adding she went to a gym to work out instead.

Moments later, gunman Chris Mercer, 26, — who owned at least 13 firearms — began spraying the school with bullets.

“When I heard that was the time of the attack, I was shocked. I can’t really say I escaped, that’s not fair to the others who didn’t make it. But I’m thankful to be here.”

The school has been shuttered since Thursday and some students aren’t looking forward to returning to the site.

“We are dreading the day we have to go back to campus. It’s eerie knowing people died there. It’s just so sad,” she said.

Meanwhile, Larson has launched a T-shirt fundraiser for families of victims with help from Del Ray Cafe in Roseburg, where she works.
