If not for Keith Hernandez, Mets totally would have perfect game

Keith Hernandez: perfect game killer.

Mets starter Dillon Gee was cruising through the Diamondbacks lineup through 4 2/3 innings when Mex broke the cardinal rule and talked about Gee having a perfect game.

“Is it too early to talk about what Gee is doing, 14 up and 14 down?’’ Hernandez asked.

Less than a minute later, Martin Prado laced a double down the third-base line. Perfect game over.

Hernandez was ribbed about the faux pas by broadcast partner Gary Cohen.
