Lipman becomes a man about Town Creative

Creative guru David Lipman has landed on his feet after the abrupt closure of his high-fashion ad agency last year.

Lipman has been tapped as chief creative officer for Town Creative, a new marketing division of real estate brokerage Town Residential.

“By bringing … David Lipman on board as chief creative officer, Town is revolutionizing branding and marketing in the worldwide real estate industry,” said Wendy Maitland, president of sales for Town Residential.

Luxury real estate listings have sky-rocketed — there have been two $70 million co-op sales — and brokerage firms are trying to one-up each other to snag the competitive listings.

Financial woes forced ad agency Lipman, whose roots went back to 1927, to shut down in September, leaving a trail of unpaid bills. Although a source close to Lipman said the agency had resolved its $9 million of debt, several family members claim they are still owed money.

While Lipman is known for his fashion work, he’s also been a force in luxury real estate. He was behind the creative marketing of One57, known as the Billionaire Building, and the re-branding of One Madison Park.
