That’s one expensive baby-sitting bill.
The city slapped an elementary-school teacher with a $6,000 fine for peddling her daughter’s baby-sitting services during school time, it was announced on Wednesday.
City investigators said second-grade teacher Lisa Shlansky, who has worked in city public schools since 1987, tried to get baby-sitting jobs for her daughter by making sales pitches at Manhattan’s PS 87 in 2012-13.
She allegedly asked her student’s parents if they need any baby-sitting services, and said that her daughter would be available for the job, a city ethics report said.
She also was accused of other inappropriate conduct, including yelling at a student, according to a finding by the Conflicts of Interest Board.
Shlansky was given a year to pay the fine and ordered to attend a three- hour course in classroom management, teacher-student interaction and sensitivity toward students.
A Department of Education spokesman said Shlansky has also been reassigned.
A relative answering Shlansky’s phone declined to comment.
