Vivienne ♥s Britain

Love is in the air at Vivienne Westwood. The priestess of punk is partnering with five revered British heritage brands on a new capsule collection affectionately titled Vivienne Westwood Loves. With a focus on high-end craftsmanship, the collaboration includes Globe-Trotter luggage (lined in tartan, naturally), cashmere cardigans from Johnstons of Elgin, Gloverall duffle coats, Pantherella socks and toppers from the venerable hatter James Lock & Co. The old-meets-New-Wave offerings are on sale now at the designer’s Conduit Street boutique and at her website.

New York

J. Wow!

French fashion house J. Mendel has slid its New York digs down the street to 787 Madison Ave. The 2,745-square-foot luxury mecca is double the size of its original home and features a floor dedicated to bridal wear and a plush enclave of opulent furs that would leave Cruella de  Vil drooling. In celebration of 18 years in New York, the store is issuing 18 limited-edition “Madison Moonlight” black broadtail minaudières. Swoon.

Prada invades Printemps Paris.

Paris

Parlez-vous Prada?

It’s beginning to look a lot like Prada at beloved Parisian department store Printemps. A merry pairing with the Italian label means elaborate holiday window displays of all things Prada — from iconic teddy bears festooned with candy canes and floors coated in the house’s signature checkered pattern, to a towering advent calendar made of classic Italian columns and numbered windows that reveal gift boxes draped in saffiano leather. The “Joyful Obsession” special collection includes accessories, a ready-to-wear line and Christmas-themed scents, scarves and candles. Joyeux Noël, indeed.

Milan

Night shift

Marni is skipping its curfew. The Milan-based line, known for its colorful, feminine silhouettes, has launched its first evening collection just in time for holiday party season. A study of grown-up sophistication, elegantly draped gowns mingle with nighttime navy cropped pants, while skirts skim calves in restrained patterns accented by demurely belted bows. The classic Marni Trunk bag also stays up past midnight with a new black silk satin and python treatment. The collection is available in Marni flagship stores and (for all the night owls) at the store’s website.
