No pain, no gain. A Manhattan auction house will put on the block a collection of medieval torture devices ranging from an iron maiden to pincers used to remove tongues for blasphemy.
The 252 devices, which once were worth about $3 million, are the most complete such collection in existence, said Arlan Ettinger, president of Guernsey’s auction house.
