Sen. Charles Schumer yesterday all but endorsed city Comptroller Bill Thompson to unseat Mayor Bloomberg.
“I always endorse the Democrat. It will be up to the Comptroller’s Office and my office as to the timing of an endorsement,” said Schumer (D-NY).
“I think the mayor has done a very good job — no question about it. There may be some others who’ll do an even better job.”
He appeared with Thompson to announce that the city pension system was pulling $10.8 million out of two energy companies that do business with Iran and pushing for divesting $141 million in holdings in eight other firms that have ties to that country.
