Boyle’s first ‘live’ performance pre-taped

Turns out Susan Boyle’s first “live” American performance was taped a day early.

NBC has confirmed that Boyle’s “America’s Got Talent” appearance tonight — when she’ll sing her smooth version of the Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses” — was actually shot Tuesday night in LA before a sepcially invited audience.

It’s not unusual for talent shows like “Talent,” “American Idol” and “Dancing with the Stars” to tape performances by guest stars early so that big name acts aren’t required to be in the studio on night of the show.

A network declined to elaborate on why producers decided to record her performance a day early, but a source close to the show said that it was due to a “scheduling issue.”

Tonight, the winner of “America’s Got Talent” is set to be announced.

Boyle, who placed second in “Britain’s Got Talent” after becoming an international YouTube sensation with her audition, is releasing an album, “I Dreamed a Dream,” in November and tonight’s appearance will be her first to promote its release.
