FIVE-WORD SPEECHES ROCK

HOLLYWOOD divas seem genetically incapable of ending Academy Award acceptance speeches before the music comes up and they are literally pulled off stage. To avoid this melodramatic grandstanding, the Webby Awards, which honor Web site excellence, limits acceptance speeches to just five words — making for some creative wordplay.

In 2005, Al Gore accepted his Webby with “Please don’t recount this vote.” In 2007, the Beastie Boys asked, “Can anyone fix my computer?”

This year’s Webbys, Monday night at Cipriani Wall Street, will include five-word antics from winners that include Sarah Silverman and Seth MacFarlane. Here are some favorites from last year’s ceremony.

“Me, me, me, me, me!!!”
