STARR REPORT

It looks like America is tiring of recent tabloid magnets Jon and Kate Gosselin. Monday night’s episode of TLC’s “Jon & Kate Plus 8” averaged only 4.3 million viewers — down from the nearly 10 million viewers who watched the May 25 season premiere and off nearly 1.5 million viewers from last week. Our long national nightmare could be over.

Better news for TNT, with Monday’s season premiere of “The Closer” (Kyra Sedg wick) snaring 7.1 million viewers — basic cable’s big gest scripted-series audience this year — and for Disney Channel’s “JONAS,” which hit a series high in kids 6-11 (1.7 million) last week.
