TV holiday specials for the whole family

With the kids out of school for the holiday, here’s what you can watch with them — or sit them in front of while you try to figure out how to fit a 20-lb. turkey into your apartment-size oven:

“Sofia the First: The Floating Palace” (Sunday, 7 p.m., Disney)
Consider this a preview of your preschool daughter’s Christmas wish list. This one-hour special features Little Mermaid Ariel (Jodi Benson, who also voiced her in the movie) in the ever-expanding universe of the youngest of the Disney princesses.

“Lady Gaga & The Muppets’ Holiday Spectacular” (Thursday, 9:30 p.m., ABC)
Coming off of a respectable outing on “Saturday Night Live,” Gaga goes for the kid vote by joining Kermit, Fozzie and Miss Piggy, who might still be bitter that Gaga turned one of her relatives into a dress. Elton John, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and RuPaul also stop by for the holiday singalong.

Jack Griffo and Ciara Bravo, star of “Big Time Rush,” star in “Jinxed.”Viacom

“Jinxed” (Friday, 7 p.m., Nickelodeon)
Ciara Bravo, whom your tweens will recognize from “Big Time Rush,” is carted out for this holiday special in which she plays a member of the catastrophe-prone Murphy family — get it, Murphy’s Law? Zany hijinks ensue on her way to breaking the family curse and finding inevitable love.

“Christmas Bounty” (Tuesday, 7 p.m., ABC Family)
Do you have a teenager whom you can only relate to by ironically loving anything cheesy and ridiculous? May I suggest this holiday special starring WWE Superstar Mike “The Miz” Mizanin. They’re calling it an “action-comedy,” and if there’s one thing ABC Family does well, it isn’t action. Francia Raisa, of “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” plays a former bounty hunter turned Manhattan elementary school teacher who must return to her home in New Jersey to work with her ex-boyfriend (Miz) to bring down a family enemy.

“Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles — Attack of the Jedi” (Wednesday, 8 p.m., Cartoon)
The brick-based adventure launches its final installment of the three-parter that has Yoda leading a class of Padawans. Sadly, this action-packed but funny series is among the only Cartoon Network offerings left that is still appropriate viewing for your younger children.

“Generation Cryo” (Monday, 10 p.m., MTV)
If you’re looking to teach your kids about the bonds of family, this documentary about a 17-year-old girl who sets out to find out about the sperm donor who was her daddy — and the more than dozen half-siblings she ends up discovering — should be on your holiday viewing list.

“Defending Santa” (Sunday, November 24, 9 p.m., ION)
If you’re one of those law-procedural fans, here’s one case you can share with the little ones: Santa on trial. Superman Dean Cain plays the arresting officer in what unfortunately turns into another holiday romance flick.
