Sterling changes his mind over selling the Clippers

Donald Sterling authorized his wife to sell his beloved LA Clippers — then suddenly changed his mind and blasted the NBA for trying to strip him of the team over his hate-filled rant, according to a letter that surfaced Wednesday.

Last Thursday, Sterling signed a letter giving wife Shelly the power to negotiate “a sale of the Los Angeles Clippers” with the NBA.

But late Tuesday, Sterling filed a formal response to the league’s Board of Governors in an attempt to reverse the unprecedented, “draconian penalties.”

LA television station KTLA reported that Sterling may even file a breach-of-contract suit against the NBA as early as Thursday.

Meanwhile, Shelly Sterling on Wednesday has received five bids — including one for $1.2 billion from a group including former NBA star Grant Hill — to purchase the franchise.
