RFK grandson to skip House race

BOSTON — The grandson of Robert F. Kennedy has decided against running for the US House from Massachusetts this year.

“I’ve got a job I love being an assistant district attorney on the Cape, and I want to get better at it at this point,” Joseph P. Kennedy III said yesterday.

A top state Democrat had said earlier in the weekend that Kennedy was weighing a race if Rep. William Delahunt were to decide against seeking re-election.

The Massachusetts Democratic establishment was rocked in January when Republican Scott Brown won the US Senate seat formerly held by Kennedy’s uncle, Edward Kennedy.
