Woman dies shortly after text she was ‘happy’

“Happy” turned tragic.

A woman was so excited about the hit Pharrell song that she posted a Facebook message about the tune while driving her car — and seconds later smashed her vehicle head-on into a truck and died.

Courtney Ann Sanford, 32, was driving on a North Carolina highway Thursday when she careened into the truck at around 8:30 a.m., according to local news WGHB.

When her family and friends found out about the fatal accident they discovered that she had posted the message “The happy song makes me HAPPY” on Facebook shortly after 8:30 a.m., the station said.

Cops said that the 911 call about the accident was placed just one minute later, at 8:34 a.m.

“In a matter of seconds, a life was over just so she could notify some friends that she was happy,” police officer Chris Weisner told the station.

Investigators were checking Sanford’s online activity before the crash, and discovered she was posting selfies as she sped down the highway.
