Our mistaken president

The Issue: President Obama’s claim that he failed to “tell a story to the American people.”

***

President Obama says that his biggest mistake so far was in not telling a story to the American people (“I Didn’t Tell the Tale Right,” July 13).

The stories he told don’t match the reality of his actions. That’s why he’s in big trouble.

The president should stop looking to connect with the American people on golf courses and on his luxurious vacation getaways.

Obama says his policies haven’t resonated with the American people and that he needs to spend more time getting the message out.

I’m sure he means he needs more time out on the town with Hollywood celebrities and on the late-night talk-show circuit.

This presidential election will be about competence.

Despite the transformation of America under Obama, you can still be fired for doing a terrible job, regardless of how well you “tell a story.”

You can almost imagine what’s being said in Obama’s re-election strategy room: Our motto is “Divert, obfuscate and never look back at our record.”

Talk about jobs and taxing the rich.

Divide the middle class with a $250,000 threshold. Republicans can’t pass that; call them obstructionists.

Before the bourgeoisie realize what’s happening, we’ll be in the White House for another four years, and then wham, bam, tax ’em.
