Cheat street

Rupert Sanders (FilmMagic)

She cheated on him? We know this is Hollywood, and those on the inside are all seemingly mythical, beautiful creatures. But when word got out that actress Kristen Stewart, 22, was disloyal to her heartthrob boyfriend Robert Pattinson, 26, jaws dropped in disbelief. She’s pretty and all, but he’s, well, HOT. What was the motive? Was it just that one time? Should she have apologized?

We asked New York women if they’d ever strayed from a babe — and the surprising answer was yes. Here’s a look at their indiscretions and confessions.

Why did you cheat on your hottie?

“Things were already falling apart. He was sleeping on the couch, and I knew he was over me. I wanted attention, so I went out with another guy.” — Kristen, 29, Manhattan

“It was provoked. Like, ‘I’m going to get back at you; not for cheating, but for pissing me off.’ I was younger, so it was a lack of maturity.” — Celia, 28, Manhattan

“I was in high school, and I was insecure because he was popular. I felt like he was cheating on me, so then I was like, just in case he cheated on me, I’m going to cheat on him.” — Kiera, 28, Brooklyn

“I was seeking companionship, because my boyfriend at the time wasn’t around that often.”

— Abigail, 31, Brooklyn

If they found out, did you apologize?

“I don’t remember if I apologized. If you know it’s ending and you secretly want out, cheating is a good way to do it.” — Celia

“I apologized. I honestly wanted him to know [about] my insecurities. We broke up for a week, but eventually we got back together, which kind of confirmed to me that he had cheated before [since he took me back so easily].” — Kiera

Would you ever cheat on a hot guy again?

“No. I didn’t think it was right then and I don’t think its right, now.” — Kristen

“I don’t see myself going behind someone’s back ever again. The next time I ever felt like I wasn’t getting what I needed, I would just end the relationship.”

— Abigail

“You never know what the future holds, but I view relationships differently now. I won’t enter into a committed relationship lightly. It’s surprising to me that [Stewart] was monogamous that long. She’s like the next Angelina Jolie. Everyone’s susceptible to cheating, but she seems like the type of girl who would make a habit out of it.” — Lindsay, 34, Manhattan
