A-Rod ‘excited’ to be back at appeal hearing

Alex Rodriguez returned to MLB’s Park Avenue offices Monday morning to resume the appeal of his 211-game suspension with a brief comment: “I’m excited to go back in there.”

Lawyers for the embattled Yankees slugger begin to make their case this week. The arbitration hearing will continue for 10 straight days, if necessary, through Nov. 27, until a break for Thanksgiving. The Yankees, whose payroll flexibility depends on Fredric Horowitz’s ruling, are eager for a resolution.

Rodriguez’s staunch advocates from Hispanics Across America were not on hand in Midtown when Rodriguez arrived around 9 a.m.

Executive director Sergio Rodriguez said in a statement: “We are still in full support of A-Rod but HAA has other issues we are handling. I believe we will be there again.”
