Yankees’ A-Rod headed to New York to continue rehab

TAMPA — The next stop on the Alex Rodriguez Rehab Tour lands in New York this weekend.

According to GM Brian Cashman, the New York leg begins today when the third baseman arrives in New York, where he will work with a physical therapist as he attempts to come back from Jan. 16 hip surgery.

“He has been rehabbing in Miami,’’ Cashman said.

Asked if Rodriguez will be in spring training at all Cashman said, “No.’’

Cashman didn’t have any news about MLB’s investigation into Rodriguez’s possible involvement with a Miami anti-aging clinic linked to performance-enhancing drugs.

“You are asking the wrong person. I can’t speak for the commissioner’s office, so I couldn’t tell you,’’ Cashman said. “I couldn’t tell you where they are at in the investigation.’’
