Positive ID on remains of slay-spree rogue cop

Medical examiners positively identified the remains yesterday of a fugitive former LA cop wanted for a grudge-driven killing spree.

The remains, charred beyond recognition, were removed from the burned-out ruins of a mountain cabin where Christopher Dorner, 33, made his last stand Tuesday in a deadly shootout with authorities that ended with the cabin going up in flames.

Medical examiners used dental records to ID the remains of former officer fired in 2008.

He had been on the run since last week, when he was named as the prime suspect in the slaying of a couple in Irvine, south of LA. The search intensified after he was accused of killing a cop and wounding another in an ambush east of Los Angeles.
