Batman is back, but in a whole new way.
Tuesday night, FOX debuted the first trailer for its new Batman prequel series, “Gotham,” which is set to air in the fall.
Ben McKenzie, best known as Ryan Atwood on the gone-to-soon hit “The OC,” stars as Gotham’s commissioner James Gordon.
The origin story will follow Gordon as he fights crime in the city as notorious villains such as Penguin, Catwoman, Riddler and Poison Ivy come to rise. In this iteration, Bruce Wayne is but a child, played by David Mazouz.
Here’s to hoping this one is more “The Dark Knight” and less “Batman & Robin.”
