Teen-slay cop suits

Two Brooklyn cops who shot and killed a 16-year-old boy last week were the target of five federal lawsuits accusing them of false arrest and violence against suspects.

The city paid out a total of $215,000 to settle the suits, all of which were filed in the last three years, court records show.

NYPD Sgt. Mourad Mourad and Officer Jovaniel Cordova shot Kimani Gray seven times in East Flatbush on March 9 after the teen whipped out a .38-caliber revolver, cops have said.

Mourad was sued once in 2009 and twice in 2010 while working a Staten Island precinct.

Cordova was sued once in 2011 and again in 2012 while working in Brooklyn’s 70th Precinct.

“There’s always been falsification and lying by these two cops to cover up what they’ve done,” said attorney Brett Klein, who filed four of the lawsuits.

“As we’ve said many times, being named in a lawsuit is not an indication of wrongdoing, and neither is settlement,” said a city Law Department spokeswoman.

Gray’s death is being probed by the NYPD and the Brooklyn DA.
