Cop breaks leg after being shoved down the stairs

A cop broke her leg today when a violent Queens man pushed her down a flight of stairs, police said.

The officer was injured about 5 p.m. as she and other housing cops tried to arrest Jose Pages, 20, inside the Ravenswood Houses in Astoria.

The cops were visiting the the home to check on Pages, who is on parole for slamming his twin sister’s head into a wall, cops and the sister said.

After the shoving incident, Pages fled the scene. He was quickly arrested when cops spotted him on the roof of a nearby building.

“I wouldn’t put it past him if he did that,” said the sister, Flor Marie Pages, 20, adding that her family has a history of scuffling with cops. “It’s not a surprise to me.”

Earlier, cops tried to arrest Pages because he was smoking pot in a hallway. They grabbed him by his T-shirt — but Pages wriggled out of the garment and ran off, Flor Marie and neighbors said.

“He dipped and that’s why they came back looking for him,” Flor Marie said.

The injured cop was taken to Bellevue Hospital.
