Jeter sitting out Tanaka’s debut

TORONTO — Derek Jeter is out of the lineup for the Yankees Friday night as Masahiro Tanaka makes his major league debut against the Blue Jays.

The 39-year-old Jeter, playing in his final season, started the Bombers’ first three games, going 2-for-9 (.222) with an RBI and a run scored.

Dean Anna gets the start at shortstop, and Brett Gardner takes Jeter’s customary No. 2 spot in the order against Blue Jays right-hander Dustin McGowan.
