Teach busted for ‘kid sex’

A public-school teacher was arrested in Queens yesterday for having sex with a 14-year-old former student, cops said.

Daniel Reilly, 36, was busted at IS 237 in Flushing and later charged with multiple counts of rape and endangering the welfare of a child.

The middle-school English teacher lured the young girl back to his Forest Hills home, where he had sex with her, according to police. The affair had allegedly been going on since last November.

Between August last year until this past weekend, Reilly and the girl had at least 10 sexual encounters that included each performing oral sex on the other, according to Queens prosecutors.

The last incident allegedly happened on Saturday.

He faced a maximum of seven years behind bars if he’s indicted and convicted of all those charges.

Reilly’s wife and mother-in-law showed up to support their man in court this morning.

Prosecutors said they plan to produce the case to a grand jury on Friday.

A judge set Reilly’s bond at $50,000 after the DA had originally asked for $75,000 bail. Reilly’s loved ones put up $30,000 cash and he walked out of court today.

“My client is married with an 11-month-old child, this bail amount is unnecessary. There is no reason my client would flee,” said defense lawyer Eric Franz.

“He is an honorably discharged Marine Corp sergeant. There is no violence in this case. My client’s family is prepared to post his bail at a reasonable amount.”

The suspect had been the victim’s sixth-grade teacher before the alleged affair started this past fall.

The victim’s sister discovered sexual messages from the teacher on the teen’s phone, cops said. She then told her parents, who alerted the school.

A judge ordered Reilly to have no contact with the 14-year-old accuser.
