Lance Bass strives for solo career with new single

Did you, like so many of us, find Justin Timberlake’s return to music with “The 20/20 Experience” to be a bloated disappointment? Never fear — JT’s fellow *NSYNC member Lance Bass has stepped in to pick up the slack.

Bass, he of “I’M GAY” People magazine cover fame, has released his first single in nearly 12 years, “Walking on Air.” For the launch of his solo career, Bass has teamed up with producer Anise K, singers Bella Blue and Ian Thomas and — wait for it — Snoop Dogg. The generic, been-there-done-that dance floor track is actually not even new — it was already a hit last year outside the US sans Bass’ part.

Here’s to hoping this works out better than that whole space thing, Lance. Nothing says pop stardom like recycled tunes!
