‘60 Minutes’ adds Bill Whitaker

“60 Minutes” has added Bill Whitaker to its lineup. Whitaker, who’s been based in LA since 1992, will move to New York and will begin his “60 Minutes” run this fall. He joins Scott Pelley, Steve Kroft, Lesley Stahl, Bob Simon and Lara Logan — who’s still on a leave of absence following her botched report on the attack on the US mission in Benghazi.

More TV news: “Good Morning America” squeaked by “Today” last month in total viewers — by a margin of 45,000 — despite “Today” having the advantage of NBC’s Olympics coverage. “Today,” though, beat “GMA” in the “money” news demo of adults 25-54 by a thisclose margin of 42,000 viewers.
